World Watches Presidential Candidates as America Remains its Steward
In 1776 our Founding Fathers met in Philadelphia with the idea to create a society based on a form of government ran solely by the people, better known as the “Great American Experiment”. In time this experiment turned into reality after the war of Independence, but still remains an experiment among American historians and Constitutionalists. The original intent of the founders has been distorted through liberal activism and poor judicial interpretations of the constitution. Keep in mind, our system is designed so the people can change back to the original Founders intent by majority vote.
Autocratic rule throughout Europe and eastern countries slowed down economic and social progress. The early colonists fled England in search of religious and individual freedoms. Even though England evolved into a constitutional monarchy, the power struggles still existed among monarchs and parliament. The British people were heavily burdened with taxes. Freedom of religious preference was not tolerated by the Church of England and the monarchy. Self rule was proved disastrous to France until their absolute monarchy was terminated after the French Revolution.
The fascination of America has been witnessed throughout the existence of this 232 year old nation of diverse, ethnic and religious peoples. A nation still in adolescence, compared to the old countries of Europe has influenced the whole world time and time again. The question is why?
This great nation is compiled as a democracy based on powers given to elected officials by the people. The rapid evolvement of this nation was a result of freedom from hierarchy (king, prince, or military ruler). England was dependent on the colonists economically; therefore heavy taxes were imposed upon the people. Selfish rule was absolved with the creation of a constitutional democracy. The founders created a form of checks and balances through three branches of government: Executive (President), Judicial (Supreme Court), and Legislative (Congress). This limitation of powers fascinated people overseas that were hearing about freedom of ordinary Americans or the rapid economic and social development as a result of less government intrusion.
The earliest American influence was the start of the French revolution in 1789. The success of the American Revolution and the independence from British rule served as a catapult for the French Revolution. The American and French Revolutions are quite similar and challenged future monarchies. The successful rapid industrial growth and the abundance of decent wage jobs placed America on the worlds watch. Capitalism gave the American people an unlimited opportunity to succeed in the private sectors of business and technology. Thus this gave them an advantage over hierarchies that controlled European countries and allowed profit to be made. Profits from American made products
created astronomical growth over short periods of time. Our diverse nation grew as several freedom seekers immigrated to America in search of a better way of life without rulers of despotic regimes. New Americans produced an economic stimulus that continues today with businesses throughout this nation. The industrial revolution kicked off rapidly after the 1830’s, passing all European economies.
The American democratic system of government has influenced other countries to mirror our system of government. Our election results help change countries policies towards world causes. The United Nations has remained quite irrelevant when decisions are made that influence European and eastern countries. America always holds her sovereignty to high esteem. This is why we exist and keep prospering. People hate us, but they all want to come here. Strange, but true! The opportunities in America are endless. Every citizen has a right to prosper. World markets and constitutional laws change when American governments are realigned.
America has rebuilt entire nations and comes to assist when tyranny exists. We give more money to world causes than any other nation on earth. The American citizenry are the most charitable in the world. The selfless acts of our armed forces can hardly go unnoticed. Approximately 900,000 American service members died on foreign soil over the past 150 years in the name of freedom. Our contributions are endless and go unnoticed by many.
The American economy of today is in disarray and recovery is in progress. With a plummeting housing market, forcing similar problems in other countries, we continue to prosper. The American dollar will rebound to be upheld as the currency of choice.
Online and print media outlets continue to hold American politicians as the decision makers of worldly political changes. This is from mere existence of American influence in every culture and electoral decision of the free world.
On January 20th 2009 a new era in American politics will begin and the world will watch closely as a new President is sworn in. Citizens in other countries will be in awe as American politicians develop new prosperous relationships with foreign leaderships. People in Europe communicate with their American relatives about choosing the leader of the free world on Election Day. It’s not about envy, because most people in the world are content with their countries, but look to America to be the example of democracy.
